The Nottingham Police Department is actively involved in the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program in collaboration with Nottingham School. Their role includes:

  1. Program Delivery: Corporal Christopher Alvarez and K9 Sgt. Brooklyn visit classrooms to teach students about the dangers of drug use, alcohol, violence, and other harmful behaviors. They provide lessons focused on decision-making, peer pressure resistance, and conflict resolution.

  2. Engagement: Corporal. Alvarez and K9 Sgt. Brooklyn engage with students in educational and interactive sessions, helping them develop skills to make healthy, informed choices in their everyday lives.

  3. Support: The Nottingham Police Department also supports the D.A.R.E. program by organizing and promoting events such as the annual D.A.R.E Graduation, in which we give away awards to students and have a good time with a party after the graduation.

  4. Community Connection: Through their involvement, the police aim to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the local community, specifically focusing on youth empowerment and building trust.
